BSHL Team Canada Opens European Tour with Offensive Showcase in Budapest

BSHL Team Canada made a strong statement in their European tour opener, skating to a commanding 8-5 victory over Hungary L'Angels at Óbuda Athletic Arena. In a game full of offensive firepower, the Canadians took control with a dominant second period and held off a late push from the Hungarian squad to secure the win.
First Period: Back-and-Forth Battle
Hungary L'Angels struck first at 17:00 when #97 found the back of the net unassisted. However, Team Canada quickly responded at 12:00 with #2 scoring his first of the game. Momentum shifted further in Canada’s favor at 8:13 when #19, assisted by #65, put them ahead 2-1. Hungary wouldn’t go quietly, though, as #90 capitalized on a late chance at 1:47 to tie the game heading into the first intermission.
Second Period: Team Canada Takes Over
The second frame saw Team Canada take full control, netting five unanswered goals. #15 started the surge with a pair of quick goals at 16:15 and 16:00, with the first assisted by #19. The scoring continued at 12:52 when #2, assisted by #9, extended the lead to 5-2. Just minutes later, #19 potted his second of the night unassisted at 6:38, followed by #91 at 5:15, who buried a setup from #9.
Hungary L'Angels had no answer in the second, as Canada outshot them 17-15 and dominated possession despite a flurry of penalties on both sides.
Third Period: Hungary Rallies but Canada Closes the Door
Hungary attempted to mount a comeback in the third, scoring three times. #5 got things started at 14:36, assisted by #97, before #22 struck twice unassisted at 6:11 and 3:41 to cut the lead to 7-5.
With the game tightening up, Team Canada put the finishing touches on their victory when #32, assisted by #44, sealed it at 1:34 with an insurance marker.
