Spin Hockey
During the first season of BSHL Wednesday night hockey, it quickly became apparent that the same two teams playing every week against each other would get stale. We had to come up with a plan. Joe S (one of the Joes in the famed Outlaws' "Joe Dirt Line") suggested rotating the players each week. After some modification, the Spin format was created. Essentially the spin format of hockey keeps a well-balanced game in the fun spirit of hockey while still maintaining team comradery.
Each full team is made up of two "spin" teams. Each spin team is a half team of players who stay together for the entire season - so you can still keep close buds together. These two half teams or "spins" will play against two other spins in game 1. For example Spin A will play with Spin B against Spin C and D. The following game would see Spin A & C vs B & D. The following game D&A vs C&B and so on. The spin format can be used for any number of teams as players always wear the same reversible jerseys. The spin format has been a huge success in keeping this game fun and exciting.
Divisions include Classic Select for beginners to intermediate, Ice Agers for the golden boys and Classic for intermediate to advance players - all spin hockey - all fun hockey
